BaggårdTeatret (‘The Backyard Theatre’) is visiting GROB with a new performance about being a fugitive and how it feels to watch your homeland at war from a distance. Bertolt Brecht’s 77 years old poetry collection will now be brought to live in a new, terrifying, and relevant context.

Søren Huss, lead singer of the rock group Saybia and one of Denmark’s most talented songwriters, has written the music and is starring in the performance alongside the Danish actor Jens Gotthelf and the German-American actor Leif Eric Young.

Bertolt Brecht immigrated to Denmark in 1933, where he lived in exile for 6 years. His poetry collection Svendborgdigte (‘Svendborg poems’) was written in 1939 in his house, which he called ‘the Danish thatched roof’, in Skovsbostrand in Svendborg, Denmark.

Please note that the play is in Danish.
